CPCC Tackles Data Center Energy Efficiency Challenges June 4, 2008

The Square D Critical Power Competency Center (CPCC) is pleased to announce editorial coverage that appears as the cover story in 7X24 Newslink (Spring 2008), the official publication of 7X24 Exchange.

Tackling Today's Energy Efficiency Challenges: A Software-Oriented Approach is an article based on a data center energy efficiency whitepaper by CPCC experts Bill Brown, P.E., James Parker, P.E./CEM/CMVP and Hugh Lindsay.

Brown and Parker were also selected to present this topic at the 7X24 Exchange this week in Boca Raton, FL, which is the leading knowledge exchange for those who design, build, use and maintain mission-critical enterprise information infrastructures. Its goal is to improve end-to-end reliability by promoting dialogue among these groups.

The article and its accompanying white paper advises industry parties how to reduce energy consumption in the data center, decreasing both escalating energy prices and the capital costs associated with the infrastructure that serves energy to the computer and server environment. Parker, Brown and Lindsey provide a software oriented strategy to capture, measure and analyze large amounts of energy usage data and computations to ensure data center efficiency without sacrificing reliability and uptime.
