Square D's CPCC Experts Featured in 7X24 Exchange Educational Program May 30, 2007

NASHVILLE, TN - May 30, 2007-

Schneider Electric announced today that two members of its Square D Critical Power Competency Center team will be among the featured presenters during the educational sessions at the 7x24 Exchange Spring '07 Conference, held in Boca Raton, Fla., June 3 - 7, 2007.

The presentation, authored and to be presented by William A. Brown, P.E, and Mark Kozlowski is titled Event Reconstruction Technologies for Modern Data Centers.

The presentation, scheduled for Tuesday, June 5, at 2:30 p.m., will help identify and mitigate potential causes of downtime and examine how back up and recovery procedures are designed to save the critical load in an emergency condition.

Attendees of the Square D educational session will learn that the key to failure recovery is an ability to quickly understand what went wrong and implement corrective actions. New power monitoring systems can re-construct the sequence of events such as circuit breaker tripping, static switch transfer, etc., down to 1 ms resolution. The presentation will discuss this technology and the necessity of its application to modern data centers.

"We're pleased that members of our team were chosen as presenters for this session," said Mark Bidinger, director of the Critical Power Competency Center. "We are a big supporter and participant in 7x24 Exchange events, and it's gratifying to be able to contribute to the professional development of attendees this year. We believe the session we've created will be extremely well-received and relevant to nearly everyone attending this important conference."

The Square D Critical Power Competency Center will also be exhibiting June 3-6, and experts will be available to answer questions related to improved reliability within a facility's electrical infrastructure. Exhibit tables for participating vendors will be located in the Royal Palm Ballroom Foyer. Visitors to the Square D exhibit will have a chance to win any of several prizes including a Magellan RoadMate 3000T portable GPS navigation system, a portable DVD player, a digital camera and several others.

Schneider Electric is also helping to provide nighttime activities for attendees by serving as a co-sponsor of "Voodoo Lounge... A Night in the Big Easy!" - an evening to enjoy drinks, music and discussions with other 7x24 attendees and participating vendors. The Voodoo Lounge event is scheduled to be held Monday, June 4, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., at the 7x24 Exchange Vendor Advisory Council Common Area.
